[Electric Boats] Re: Propane and Propane Warning devices

IMHO, here are some resources worth review if you have  a reasonable expectation of using propane aboard your vessels:

and so on.

Try using Google to search for "propane sailboat containers" or similar phrases.  Or, if you are "old school", visit a library or discuss this subject with a pro who is willing to give you some pointers and perhaps do some of the more difficult work for you.  RV dealers and repair shops are very tuned in to this subject too.

If I could get my Cal 29 electrical system powered using a nuclear generator I would be learning how to do the proper welding, fittings, and figuring out how to manage the steam systems.  Doing so would present some different safety issues (steam is pretty dangerous when improperly managed), and my guess is that the Coast Guard and other government agencies have rules that would prevent me from just dumping spent fuel rods overboard when they are no longer needed, even if I am more than three miles from shore, never mind having to find and purchase new fuel rods every once in a while.

But the control panels and all the other gizmos for it would be very cool so show off around the marinas when cruising or visiting boat shows.

Propane may be hazardous, but going on deck in heavy weather to set a reef can be dangerous too, not to mention driving to your local marina and all of the other things we do from day to day....
