[Electric Boats] Structural Batteries

 

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it in this group but race cars are on the leading edge of structural battery technology. Since they use a lot of composites apparently it is possible to add additives to the composites that will allow the structure to store electrical energy. The technology is in its' infancy but it is being used to save weight in race cars by cutting down on battery weight. Thanks. Steve S.
