They are lifepo4.  Parallel C rate for these should be 800a. When it stopped the victron meter and indicator lights on the throttle and sevcon were still on.

If you just lost the motor but not the rest of the ship systems, the problem is likely in the controller or possibly in the motor (apparently there's a small chip under a plate on the back end of the motor that could have a corrosion risk).

 

If you lost the whole electrical system, odds are good that the BMS shut the batteries down. There are a number of reasons that could happen but heat would be my first guess given your system's 800ah rating. You don't say if you have lithium or not but if you do not, you may have had a C problem instead (i.e. drawing more power out of the bank than the batteries could provide).
