Yes , you are right Eric , I chose the wrong word.
I have been following Hybrid Marine for years , but hadn't been to their site for a while .
For me , fishing/motorsailing from the back of the boat , it would be very handy.
Hook a fish , I can take off speed quickly , without having to move from my position.
They have a lot more on their site too , on how they have their hybrids set up , that wasn't there before.

That's funny. When you said auto tiller, I thought it was some sort of tiller pilot. Instead, the tiller just has throttle control buttons for the electric drive. What I didn't see was an indicator of the throttle position. Not a deal breaker, but it's nice to have a visual reminder if there is no tactile feedback.
