I am currently looking to buy a charger for my system, 24 volt 2 group 31 (possible upgrade to 2 4ds) agms. The question is which charger? You can perty much spend what ever you like. Not sure how to select the appropriate size 5, 10, 20, or 30 amp output. or if waterproof like promarine or dualpro is required. My boat does have a cuddy but is an open cockpit with the cudy open to the cockpit. I would like to have the ability to run off of honda generato 2000 while running the motor, which I understand has been a problem for the dual pro.
I would like to just buy one at the local west marine or Hamiltons (Portland Maine based marine store). But again the options are wide. West Marine offers Promarine, quest, charles marine, mastervolt, xentrax and even those have different models. All seem to say they can charge agms, gels, flooded with multistage charging. some are temp compensted and some make not as being able to act as a DC power supply.
