Re: [Electric Boats] New to this electric inboard motor stuff - anyone if Dallas/Fort Worth done a DYI?

Silent sailing
No more diesel smell
No more oil changes
No more dirty bilges
No more smokey exhaust fumes
No more chugging loudly across the marina
Not that inexpensive after all
Not a great cruising range but oh how slick!
Silent running!
If short range is auxiliary is all you need E is a great fit for a cool day sailing everyday. Buy the right propeller.

Hi  friends:

We are looking to convert from our 1980, 8 hp, Renault Diesel motor to electric power using the Thunderstruck Sailboat kit 10.5 kw.

We own a 1980, 27ft Hunter, 7000# displacement. It's an adorable old gal.

I'm all on board with the change but my husband could use a little more convincing.....

Any advice would be wonderful.  I'd love to see or hear your story and best learned lessons.  We are in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area and our boat is on Grapevine lake.

Thanks, Theresa & Jay
