After several years in the works, eLiza is finally afloat.  She is a 21 ft workboat converted from a diesel engine that died with a displacement hull of about 2500 lbs. The power train is a 5KW sailboat kit from Thunderstruck with 3.3:1 reduction driving a 13x12 propeller.   The initial supply is from 4 80Ah AGM batteries.

After launching in August, the performance in a number of trial runs has been pleasantly better than that predicted by the Thunderstruck spreadsheet.

   Prop RPM     Amps      Knots

       200      2.0       1.5

       400      8.5       3.0

       600      25        4.4

       800      80        5.6
