Re: [Electric Boats] Re: Success! 37ft electric conversion

Larry,

I have the Thunderstruck 10kw kit, and I am also using their in house reduction gear.  I get a little regen (about 3 or 4 amps) at 5 knots, but I haven't really had enough time or wind yet to see what it will do at 7 kts or more.  I have a left hand prop as was the original and a starboard offset.  I believe you want to typically use a LH prop for a starboard offset prop, and RH prop for a port offset prop.

Great Darin!  I have the same reduction so I'll look into whether I can accommodate the prop with the space I have etc.  What system do you use and do you get Regen out of it?  Also, what hand is the prop?  I'm not sure it makes any difference with the motor since it's only a matter of what direction I connect the shift linkage.  I haven't gotten that far so I'm just trying to be prepared :-)
