Thanks for the response and information, you have triggered a thought, I checked the props for clearance to the rudders when folded, but didn't check hull clearance when open… thanks for that. From what I have read re-gen isn't really their yet for boats so we are banking on solar for charging with the gen-set as a backup, the Dix design allows for 10 solar panels up top, so we plan to have 2 banks of 5 with independent charging systems to feed the batteries, this way when under sail and the sails are shadowing one bank the other is efficiently working, your right that changing ratios is much easier and cheaper than props. The thunderstruck guys (as you have said) agree that the props are about right so it's good to know we are close to the mark.
