Hi Scott
Great advice that paid off well in the end
It Turns out a heavyweight engineer from one of the outfits that folded a few years ago and is now a consultant. Gave us a break and saved us a ton of grief and expense of learning the hard way, on all of this technology.
He broke down the performance and the math along with the costs. WOW what an eye opener that was.
Its Going to make large Cabin Cruiser boating the sport of Kings at these rates for any alternatives.
For now and in the near future $1000 weekend for fuel is a drop in the bucket on any twin screw.
Where going with a conventional gas re-power this time around, it just makes sense for now.
Running costs, the main reason most of the Cabin Cruiser's are going to sit in there slips.
Thanks.

From my experience, it was no fun making that first mistake. I paid way too much to learn the hard way. The one positive thing I can say is it opened my eyes to the importance of doing my homework. The builds are more exciting with a good plan that actually ends up the way I expected it to.
Achieving expected results is very rewarding and a lot more cost effective. By the way, if anyone is looking for a new lower leg, short shaft, for building your own 3 to 5kw outboard, I have just the thing.
Scott
