I have a 1978 Beneteau First 30.
I am using the 5kw package from Electroprop.
I replaced everything in my repower, from the engine mounts through to the propeller.
Prop is a 12x14 3 blade fixed prop with large blades.

My battery pack is 100ah of lithium iron phosphate at 48v.
The thunderstruck kit should be fine for your boat.
Controller programming is important and your battery pack configuration will influence this. My pack is 16 cells. I am able to run with 15 cells should one go bad which allows me to continue to operate while waiting for a replacement.

I'm strongly considering replacing my broken 10Hp diesel engine with an electric motor.
I am leaning towards the 5kW kit from thundestruck with a 2:1 gear reduction, but I'm very interested in alternatives (maybe in Europe) due to the exchange rates for the dollar. I reside in Norway. The boat is a Beneteau First 26 built in 1984, with a displacement of 2000kg/4400pounds. I believe the propeller is 14 inch/10 pitch, 2 blade folding. If anyone has experience regarding regen on smallish boats like this I'd love to hear about it.If anyone has a similar sized sailboat with an electric engine, I'd be very interested in what your experience is regarding the size of your battery bank, range and so on. I think I need to install the motor first and the see what room is left for batteries, but I assume it will be between 100-200Ah 48V.And if anyone has installed the thunderstruck k it with the gear reduction I'd love to see some pictures from the installation and how you've solved the mounting.
