We got lucky and had one of the( inside the loop ) engineer guys from there world
who told me the truth. Long story short It's battery weight and generator size and expense
of what ever electric propulsion outfit you decide to by a new Prius for. That will not do what
WE NEED IT TO DO and the money is poof spent and nobody is the bad guy.
Stay with the 454's unless you have enough money to buy a boat designed from the bottom up.
Eventually there will be conversions by boat size out there when batteries are way better and
way cheaper.
Ya right, like a Hovercraft or a Helicopter in every driveway and cars that does ????
The market share isn't there yet, it will more than likely be an offshoot of something else R&D'd
down the line, in terms of affordability for the average to fairly well off boater.
Then all the slip Queens would be on the water belting into one another. LOL
Take Care.

Been lurking here for a week or so.
I haven't found much in the way of larger conversions unless they are sailboats. Please point me in the direction of cruiser type conversions.I have a late 90's 370 Sundancer that has twin 454 Magnum MPI engines. They are tired, and one is seriously broken, and I am ready to explore the world of e power. I am not a long range cruiser. We mainly do day trips from beach to cove around Sarasota Bay. We NEVER go fast. Don't need to with the boating pattern we enjoy.I think this vessel might be a perfect platform for going hybrid. I still want my genset to run house amenities, and charge batteries between legs. I am not a "go green" guy, but rather trying to free myself from the expense and maintenance of ICE.Care to share who your consultant is? May consider a partnership with a company that wants to showcase their technology in re-powering with electric.
