If you don't mind doing a little building and electronics there are some things to look at. There is some good information about balancing lead acid at Linear Technology, http://www.linear.com/ .
The Linear Technology LTC3305 is a single chip lead acid battery balancer. It is only for up to four batteries though. But looks like a good solution for that number. If you dig around at Linear there is lots of technical and information.
