I should have the motor in a couple of weeks. I think you have to hit reverse first with a folding prop, but you are better off selling it and going with fixed for Regen. My system is using a lower unit but it is not that hard to use shaft drive. You just need two pulleys. Very simple.

I have a fixed propeller and prop shaft from when I bought the boat, I might test it at some point. I was curious about regen because I've noticed my Gori folding prop folds "over-centre" and will keep rotating if I stopped the engine in while neutral under sail. I suppose it might fold in if I put any load on it from trying the regen.I found this installation online utilizing the thunderstruck hardware and reduction gear, I suppose it'll work, but it looks odd somehow. The installation pictures I saw on the thunderstruck website seem to be without rubber engine mounts.
