You can connect a 24 volt battery or solar array to your T1003 while in use.

I have two 12 volt  100 watt panels in series connected to mine. It saves me from having to run a cord to it to charge it when not in use.  I don't think it really help with range unless you stop for a while half way.

I have the Torqueedo 1003 as well with 512wH battery. Convenience of their waterproof battery with integrated charging and BMS has trade off of slow charging (4 amps limit). Not a problem if it's a yacht tender but sometimes it would be nice to have more range(fishing etc.) Sometimes I've thought of getting some kind of bigger amphour battery for my dingy that could take charge faster than 4 amps. Going thru the integrated battery solar or a bigger battery are limited to 4 amps to motor, about 100 watts, quite a slow pace. I know you can get a spare battery and one of the new 915 wH(31 amph) but still then at night back on the boat still limited to recharat 4 amps. This Chinese motor doesn't have its own battery so would allow DIY power solutions?

That sounds great: I'm looking for a 12v lithium battery for my own dinghy outboard, does anyone have suggestions?
