New guy request: please use the right acronym when talking lithium chemistry batteries. Otherwise, it'll get very confusing when comparing different types.
LiPo is Lithium Polymer, aka the floppy kind used for RC planes and cars. Very unstable! You would have to be either crazy or a crazy genius to make an electric vehicle using lithium polymer batteries today. Hyundai and Kia use them in vehicles, so hopefully they fall into the second category. The "Po" equals "polymer".
LiFePO4 is Lithium Iron Phosphate, which are those giant 2V cells you see in lots of electric vehicles. CALB, Valence, etc. Generally considered the safest form of lithium batteries currently available. Much bulkier than LiPo or other chemistries, but usually worth it for safety. Plenty of Youtube videos showing how hard it is to cook LiFePO4s off. The "PO4" equals "Phosphate".
Thanks, not trying to tell anyone their business, just trying to save others the confusion I had when I started looking at lithium batteries.
