[Electric Boats] Re: Battery replacement

Hi Chris,

I recommend LifePO4 over anything else:
1. My Winston 90 Ah cells are still good after 8 years of rough use.
2. They are one of the safest and longest lasting of all lithium chemistries.
3. I have upgraded many failed lead batteries including a Northstar AGM recently.
4. LFP cells don't mind being left partially discharged (most lead cells do).
5. I'm using LFP in our yacht conversion starting next week.

My situation:
6. My company specialises in servicing EVs, battery repaires / rebuilds / upgrades.
7.. My house is off-grid with ~12 kW solar + 2 x Nissan Leaf batteries for storage.
8. Solar power supplies our two EVs, hot water cylinders, fridge, kettle... etc.
9. Our house originally had 16 x 400 Ah lead batteries.... bad experience!

I undestand not all lead batteries are equal and no doubt there are probably some good ones out there... I just don't have any experience of them.

I do have lots of experience with LFP and think it's awesome :)

PS - Nissan Leaf modules are not LFP.
