Cool that your old engine struts seem to be in exactly the right place.
You might consider putting lag bolts into the old struts and slipping the holes you drill into the steel flange over them, so that you could use locking bolts on either side to fine tune the angle up and down until it's perfectly aligned. some rubber washers may help reduce vibration too.
