One of the issues I am running into with designing for LiFePO4 batteries is the lower storage temperature as compared to lithium-ion batteries. I store my boat in a metal pole barn, and the temperature is 10+ degrees above ambient in full sun, so summer temperatures are usually just over 100F. Based on the specifications that I have reviewed, long term storage of LiFePO4 batteries should be below 95F to prevent degradation of the cells. Not sure if others have this issue/experience, but this is driving me towards lithium-ion in my design...
