and in case it wasn't obvious, use tinned cable lugs, not copper only. If the connections are exposed to moist air or wet environments I would use lanolene spray or similar and then rubber hoods.

I did all of my main power connections in 2/0 cable. After all you've spent on your drive system and batteries, don't cheap out on your cabling.
