You may already know ABYC [https://abycinc.org/default.aspx] as the not-for-profit organization dedicated to safe boating, and the promulgator of numerous standards that marine surveyors pay attention to when they are surveying our vessels.

I am not an ABYC member, but paying a temporary membership fee enabled me to download the several ABYC standards that pertain to sailboats, batteries, electrical gear, and propulsion systems which I have in a binder and refer to whenever a new design issue comes up in connection with my own diesel to electric conversion project. [In my mind, something could be acceptable to me personally, but if a surveyor calls it out, then it's not good for the resale value!]
