Re: [Electric Boats] Re: 56 foot Performance Catamaran

Hi Todd

I have never seen these before. I actually did ask Torqeedo about their big blue system but it is way over weight for allowance.

This does look much more like something I could use. Can you give me more info on how to this is mounted and how it’s connected?

Regards

Hamish

Dear Hamish,
Another option is to use a pair of the new 10kW fixed POD drives from Torqeedo.  As far as installation this might be significantly simpler, and you maintain the ability to use the Flexofold propeller.   These motors operate @48v nominal and we also sell a matched POWER 26-104 lithium battery bank that integrates nicely should you want to go that route.   http://www.torqeedo.com/us/en-us/products/pod-drives

Depending on your timeline this might be an option.  The 10kW outboard is available now, the POD in another few months.   Let me know where you are located (is it Vietnam?) and I can connect you to the appropriate contact.
Best,

Captain Todd Sims - Global Sales and Product Manager, Hybrid Systems for Torqeedo
