This posting is my second posting on an issue that you may wish to become educated to.
As a member of several national professional marine business organizations, I have been made aware of an issues that will impact anyone who uses gas in or around their boats. This issues is focusing on the EPA mandating a significant reduction in the availability of non E15 blend Ethanol gas. E15 is beyond the blend wall which is about 9% after which serious damage may occur in gas powered motors. This is very serious for small motors as the auto industry's engineering and the higher levels of fuel movement through the gas storage in a car mitigate the issues of E15 for cars. In low usage small gas motors there is a serious issue of failure and pollution as gaskets and rubber components fail.
The issue is motor failure at sea and the impact on boat safety. The use these higher blend fuels in your marine based motors or any small motor that is has limited usage. This means outboards, gas generators, small gas powered tools are at risk. It is not safe to use the Ethanol blends that you find at the local gas station in these motors. The new lower levels of non blended gas will likely prevent the local marine fuel dealer from obtaining non blended gas.
If this is a concern to you, you are encouraged to connect to the link below and learn more about this issue and voice your concern.
