I think you are missing a zero ..
The most efficient panels today are about 350 W each.
20 of these are about 7 kW, and about 1 sq m each, for 20 sq m total.

70 kW of solar power would need 200 panels, and a boat with area of about 200 sq m !

Run the generator when large power required. Eg ocean crossings. But run mostly on solar when cruising in amongst islands / coastal cruising etc. It's a huge project and I'm a few years off getting started. So at the moment all I'm trying to do is educate myself.
