[Electric Boats] 56 foot Performance Catamaran

Hi I am currently in the early stages of building a 56 ft / 17m waterline light weight performance catamaran.

The Cat would weight 7500kg with a 2 40+ Diesel/sail drive and around 600kg of fuel option. I would move to shaft drive though.

This style of sailing cat it very light and slippery with top speeds of 25+ knots so we are not talking in the lines of the more heavy and slower production cats not that there is anything wrong with them.

I have been doing a lot of research on what to use in the way of electric propulsion  and let me out line what i have come up with.

2 x 10kw motors

2 x Reduction boxes of 2:1 for shaft drive

2 x 200ah litium lifePo batteries

Folding Flexofold 15x10 props

Controllers and throttles.

What i am struggling with is AC or DC and full kit suppliers minus batteries. There seems to be a huge difference between to fully commercial prices and other prices.

Could you guys please give me your ideas on the above and configuration and suppliers of the parts needed or preferably a full kit.

Regards

Hamish
