I am working on a cat conversion as well.
The 16 ft Cat will not hold alot of weight.
I tried making a wood deck platform on the cat with a 40 lb minnkota motor and one group 31 lead acid battery.
with 4 passengers it was hanging quite low in the water.
speed was reasonable for a lake cruise.

I will try to figure out how to post to youtube my test run.

I plan on redoing the deck with alumininum to reduce weight.

Ultimately I hope to have a 2 person boat with a solar bimini for lake cruising.

this friend of mine, is trying to find a
electric propulsion setup for the 16ft

there are enough spacein the
