My local waters have lots of crab pots (similar to lobster traps). It's not unheard of to get one of these tangled around the prop and shaft - often without noticing. With my Atomic Four in this situation, the line could eventually get so tightly entangled that the engine would stall and then stop.
What would happen with an electric motor in this situation? Would the current to the motor keep increasing until the circuit breaker trips? Would the motor controller detect a big difference in the Amp/RPM ratio and make some adjustment? Or, worst case, could the motor be torn from its mount?
