RV refrig is usually the ammonia type. It uses heat to make cold. The heat supplies come from propane, or 120v, or 12v. 12v heat is the least efficient (so says my Dometic 3-way manual). RV'ers have to remember to switch over to 120v or propane after they're parked. Otherwise, that battery is going to get run down.
I'd think for electric boat use, you'd want compressor refrigeration, or the electric eutectic coolers made for small boats.
