Arby, I also have 2 cable cutters, one in the rear lazerette and one in the foredeck locker. The chain plates on the outside of the hull are one of the things I like about most of the Island Trader line, easy to inspect, the other reason that I like the Ketch rig, the rigging is tied together rather nicely, yes it could all come down at once but likely there will be a stress point that will break first, this is the warning and should give you enough time to make adjustments in sail area and course to take the stress off the remaining rig. Just curious, does anyone carry a cable come-along for such occasions? It probably wouldn't hold up in a good blow, but at least the mast would still have some support. Purely a novice question.
