As always, your posts are very insightful and tremendously helpful. They also help tweak my desired specifications into something a little more realistic.
Practically speaking, I probably don't need to do a 24 hour constant motion *very* often. So I can probably drop some of the batteries in favor of using the Genset if I need to motor thru the night / or in low light. If trying to get out of the path of a storm or strong current, burning some fuel is always preferable to having the boat torn apart!
As you have all pointed out, this is an elephant of a project and needs to be cut down into bit sized pieces.
Just to keep confusion at its minimum, I am going to post each system as a separate thread for discussion so it can stay focused. See upcoming posts for each part of the project.
