Thanks all for the responses. To clarify our future project. It will be a 100 feet plus so called "Phinisi", traditional wooden cargo motor sail vessel. Can be seen on http://www.kastenmarine.com/30m_phinisi.htm. My enquiries so far cover the diesel/electric solution, but with enormous generators on board. (As usual on bigger commercial boats)
So I am looking for a solution as we want to have a boat as ecological as possible. I was looking into hybrid systems but couldn't find much so far.
