I couldn’t say.
It looks cool J
And it has saved my prop from hitting logs and other things in the water.
I know that the efficiency went up when I went from the stock and high-pitch Tohatsu 9.9” aluminum props to a 12”x12”x3 blade brass prop. I’d like to spin a 14x11” prop in the prop guard but have yet to have one jump out at me and meanwhile the efficiency of the setup I have has been more than acceptable. I mean, how can I expect more than 6kts for 6HP with a 2-ton, flat-bottom scow cruiser? And how much can I possibly save in power with a better prop at 4kts where I currently draw something like 1.5HP? Still, I’d jump at the right priced 14x11” prop, preferably one that has a straight, non-conical shaft hole.

Hi Myles,
Do you think that the propguard made a difference for your motor? Or at least more of a difference that just adding a 14" prop? I've olny seen them online...
