I'd highly recommend building your own sails using sailrite.com kits. For 500-1000 dollars for the machine + the kit your are on the way. The kits are generally 1/3 the cost of having someone build them for you, and the folks at sailrite are great, solid instructions, great customer support, good materials, and good design works.
