Brian,
As far as I know, the Zivan, Elcon and Manazanita chargers can all be configured for various Lithium battery types and brands and can be used while underway with an appropriately sized generator. There are probably other chargers that would also work. Mike has discussed how he has been able to drive his boat with a Zivan charger powered by his Honda generator. He has also reported that he was not successful using a Dual Pro charger as a drive source.
As recently as 1 year ago, the HiPower cells did not compare well against Thundersky or CALB (formerly Sky Energy). I've heard reports that they have undergone many improvements since those tests. The new product looks differnt then their previous batteries, but they are still noticably larger than Thundersky or CALB for the same rated size cell.
Since my batteries came with a one year warranty and they are doing well at 7 months, at this point I'm not worried about single failures. If I did have one, I guess that I'd have to replace it myself. ;)
Fair winds,
Eric

I had a long talk about a month ago with one of the owners at www.evequipmentsupply.com Carl is I believe a former Senator and very dedicated to changing our energy dependance on fossil fuel. He sells a product from China called HiPower lithium batteries. They also sell BMS and Chargers. Have you heard of them? Also, now that the company that sold you batteries is gone, what do you do if they go bad prematurely? Thanks again.
