[Electric Boats] Choice of Motors

I am sure that these questions have been asked before, so please forgive me asking again.

I am considering building a small electric boat, no longer than 14', for use on the non-tidal parts of the Thames. I have two 12v motors from old self-propelled cylinder mowers, Atco, I think. Are these likely to be powerful enough to drive the boat if linked to an small outboard leg? The other alternatives I have considered are the scooter motors that are readiliy available on e-bay

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

James.
