Re: [Electric Boats] 21' launch performance data

Thanks, Denny.
I'll have some photos of the "guts" soon, and then you'll see the influence of your build. Many thanks to all who responded to questions in my previous posts .
I was really after capacity with the Zimmer design, willing to sacrifice performance for the greater beam, wetted surface, and underwater volume. This boat will spend most of it's time on our railway or tide grid, so I wanted a substantial "backbone" to ease my mind.

All this increases the displacement, and the building cost, and the building time, etc. But there you go, "You pays your money and you makes your choices".

I had also considered a 25' double-ender by Charles Mower, but really don't have that kind of space available for a long-term project. I'm a sucker for double-enders.

I have come to realize that although the noise of an ICE is annoying, the vibration is also very tiring. Although the PMAC motor is reasonably quiet, it isn't as quiet as I had hoped, even out of the boat. I am very pleased, however, that the boat has almost no vibration, which I find adds tremendously to the relaxation when underway. The immediate throttle response is also very reassuring. Gotta be careful not to spill the drinks when manuevering hard.
