You're not alone in your journey for energy efficiency. You need to read a couple of the books by Lin and Larry Pardey. They have sailed around the globe for decades in boats with no engine and little to no electrical demand. While they live the ideals that you are preaching, I doubt that anyone here, including you, is willing to jump in so wholeheartedly.
Let us know more details about the electric drive that you are installing and the improvements that you have made to your boat to reduce your dependancy on external power sources.
