As soon as your budget is considering an Electric Yacht system, I would suggest a Torqeedo Cruise 4.0. It is the same price as the the cheapest EY system and I would think that it would be an easier install for you. The Torqeedo systems are very sophisticated and and the company is large enough that you can have confidence that they'll be around to support their product in the future.
For boats that can use an outboard installation, I find the Torqeedos an elegant solution.
