Clean eMarine in Copenhagen, Denmark has been doing large electric boats for quite a while now. They also have been active in an ongoing research project about electric propulsion for ferries, tour boats and large sailing yachts. Called the RENSEA Project, it was pretty intensive for the first phase. My understanding is that they are now working on phase 2. The results are though that it is possible to use electric propulsion as a viable alternative in larger vessels.

Hi,
I'm exploring options for outfitting a new 180 ton sailing vessel with electrical primary propulsion.
I'm looking for resources for vendors who have experience at this scale. The energy inputs would be from wind, solar, shore power, and bio-diesel generator(s). Outputs would go for propulsion and house. Any help finding resources for this power-up would be great.
Cheers,
