I am keeping my house battery separate. To share power I would need a step-down dc-dc converter.
I think it is a safety issue to have a separate source for the radio.

I have another question. Should I keep my 12v batterie for house needs or should I use an inverter from the batteries bank of the motor to the 12v for house needs?
My 12v needs are:
VHF radio
GPS
Instruments
Auto pilot
Nav lights
interior lights.
