As a fellow Aussie, in SE Victoria, on the Lakes, I've just launched my yacht with its 5KW motor and rerigging is almost finished and weather improving (still cold but not as wet) so will be going out for a sail this week I hope. Motor works well but my power costs are $0 as I have a wind gen to charge the batteries for the short trips yachts need.
Yachts should be sailed not motored in my opinion. But nice to know that two switches and the motor is there, unlike smelly old unreliable diesel.
