Hello all. We will be doing a trip this summer that I had not planned on when we switched to electric on our Alberg 30. That being said I would still have went with electric. This is only 1 trip of the many we plan on and will be slower than a diesel but the trade off is worth it.
we are going up the St.Lawerence seaway from Halifax NS. I plan to keep a spreadsheet of performance under various conditions to post at the end.
In the meantime we will be starting a blog. URL to follow. For rhose who would like some background on what we have done so far go to www.travelesintotheblue.blogspot.com. This will change.
I am also going to try to remember to post comments on Twitter when possible.
Hope fully the info at the end will give more people an Idea what cruising with electric is like.
Alberg30 with Electric Yacht 100ibl Two separate packs of AGM totaling 200 amps so 9600 watts
Decided on 2 banks due to space and balance on the boat.
On twitter at fullkeel2000 or look for Richard Mair for interested parties.
Weather permitting we will set off somewhere around the 15th after a short shakedown early next week.
Richard
