As long as we're wishing, I'll put in my vote for 50% efficient PV solar panels and a Brita style filter that makes fresh water from seawater. These two items would seriously reduce the storage need for electric off-shore cruising sailboats, making said battery improvements less important. Imagine 8kWh+ per day from 33 sq ft of panels.
Maybe we'll have them all someday, maybe not...
