Howard,
Right now I'm in Tennessee doing some contract work and the Arc is in La Belle Florida where I've been working on it. Now that it's almost ready to travel I hope to move it North to Charleston SC or the Wilminton NC area soon so it will be closer to my home in East Tn. I have to keep taking work breaks to pay for all this stuff and it would be easier if the boat was closer to where I get most of my work.
I posted about a dozen pics this morning in an album on the yahoo group called "The 'Arc'himedes". Not sure if there is a lag for approval from the moderator or not but I think they are there to look at.
Thanks for your interest.
Carter

Hi Carter What is your location? Do you have any pictures you could post. I have a great interest in what you are doing. Tim, The boat came with the autoprop and unfortuneately it is about worn out so I'm not sure if I'll have it rebuilt or go back to the original 3 blade prop that came with the boat. The old owner did do some comparisons and the autoprop definitely increase the boat performance, by about 15%. I could go back to the old prop and just change the gear ratio of my sprocket to compensate. I'm thinking a couple of sprockets might be a lot cheaper than having the prop rebuilt but I'll look into it before I make a decision. Regen from the prop is not really an option because I don't have sails to drive it. I think the controller does have a regen feature but the drive train would have to be significantly modified to use it and with 5kW of solar I'm hoping I won't need it. I'm leaning toward eventually scrapping the ancient diesel and putting in a small diesel genset that puts out 48V for when the sun is not shining. My first mate is the blogger but I'll tell her about the eyefi card. I've never heard of it before. very nice. I will be following your blog.Have you used an autoprop before? Do you have a regen capable controller? I would be really interested to know how the autoprop does in regeneration mode. I think it might perform really well. I have a ton of questions from hull design and construction to your route. I will lurk on your blog a little while and see what develops. I recommend an eyefi card for producing your blog. ------------------------------------Yahoo!
