Hello everyone,
This is something I've actually put some thought into and came up with something. Maybe I'm a total nerd, but I really thought when I went electric I just had to design a new "battle ensign" for my boat. The old battle ensign (naval war flag) was a green dogfish, sort of a cartoon shark. When the boat went electric, I updated the old design with a crossed lightening bolt and trident underneath. Of course, the lightening bolt signifies electric and the trident is a traditonal symbol of sea power and/or knowledge. It's Neptune's trident, so you can't go wrong. I looked all over the internet for a lightning bolt and trident to plagiarize but couldn't find one I liked so I figured out how to use Adobe Illustrator and just made my own. I spent a few afternoons getting the proportions just right and then saved it as a transparent vector image (.png) so it can be used on T-shirts and other graphics. The crossed lightening bolt and trident underneath the Intrepid "dogfish" of course is my own boat's unique battle ensign, like every true pirate has to have their own pirate flag- not the one you buy at Disney Land (Remember the last scene in the last Pirates of the Carribbean?) ...but if anyone else wants to adapt it and put their own boat logo/ manufacturer logo/ anything you want over the crossed lightening bolt and trident, maybe that could be our symbol of common "electric boat brotherhood" what do you think? I'll attach the files and I hereby relinquish all intellectual property rights.
