[Electric Boats] Re: Torqeedo stops... (Solid Nav)

Richard,
The only thing I could see you updating are the electronics and computer control systems. The SolidNav used the old atomic 4 controls and I always thought that was a weak point - replacing a 30 year old motor but keeping the controls? I know that with our older brush motors, very few issues and it would not be hard to upgrade. Again the elecronics would be nice to have.
Scott can be reached by going to the website. http://electricyacht.com.
I really do enjoy meeting and speaking about our brave new world of electric sailing. I will be doing presentations at several local boats shows.

No communication and no service from the manufacturer. In today's economy and with the state of the boating industry, this happens. I hope that the growing number of creative companies become successful as the ability of boaters to choose is helpfull to all of us. At the Strictly Sailing Pacific in Oakland, there were 5 electric propulsion vendors this year as compared to one, us, last year. I have invited one of my competitors to join me at the Venture Boat Show as I think prospects need to know that electric propulsion is real.

The new models 503 and 1003 have been reduced to dinghy motors because they cannot be connected to external batteries and the 1003 cannot use the high thrust prop that was on the 801 because of its' higher RPMs. At almost $2000 the 503 and 1003 are just too expensive if their only use is as a dinghy motor. Thanks. Steve S.
