[Electric Boats] Re: Torqeedo stops production of the Travel 401 and 801 models.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Torqeedo is intending to drive us to the Cruise 2.0 or bigger if you want external battery capability. I'd happily pay $1500 for a 1003 Base, but I'm not going to pay $2k for a 1003 with a LiMa battery I don't need, or $2800 for a Cruise 2.0 with more power than I want/need.

I was surprised to hear Cap'n Todd say he has requested they make an external battery adapter for the 1003 - I had hoped this was already in the pipeline.

I think they've left a big gap in the market unfilled...

The 801 with its' battery adapter would allow you to hook up four Trojan T-105's with a capacity of 5400 watt-hours. This is ten times the capacity of the 1003's battery. I like the new models. I just wish they hadn't shot themselves in the foot because of the lack of an external battery hookup. Thanks. Steve S.
