Re: [Electric Boats] Torqeedo travel 1003

Hi Chris

Thanks a lot for your answer. For me it would not be a problem to only go 3 knots at full throttle. However, the battery capacity is too little for getting far enough. Last friday I motored more than 15 miles (very unusual) at speeds between 5 and 9 knots! Though with the current, I doubt the 400Wh would have sufficed. The current seemed to be more than 5 knots at times and it was nice to just zip along the shoreline of the sound. However, I needed the engine all the time because of vortexes which would whirl the boat around whenever I had too little speed through the water to countersteer... No wind, and a passenger who needed to get home within the night were the reasons for this excessive motoring. I guess I have to think about something else than the 1003 since sometimes I want to use more energy than is provided by the little battery, especially when there is no wind at all.

Thanks again for your comments

Matti
