No, I was not aware of the Scout Boats offering. For many, this would be an
awesome parallel hybrid boat.
The Boston Whalers that I am modifying to incorporate the 36-volt Lenco Dual
Digital system are in active service, not to be purchased, so the investment
has already been made for them. The gas motors are in the range of 200 HP
and the fully-fitted boats weigh many times more than the Scout 14.5 footer,
so it will be interesting to see the level of performance we get from the
Lencos.
Still researching suitable battery options, 36 volts at 200 amp-hours and
not to exceed 200 lbs. battery weight.
