Conversely i'm finding that laptop computer Li-ion's are currently
living 18 months to 2 years before they have lost so much capacity as to
be useless. And these are batteries with a built in micro controller and
memory chip so the onboard charger can treat them properly.
The Li-ion battery in my GPS lasted only 12 months (Nokia mobile phone
type battery).
